Ninja Returns to Twitch, First Stream Achieves Almost 100,000 Viewers in 15 Minutes

Fortnite Twitch

Streamer Tyler Blevins a.k.a. “Ninja” has returned to Twitch for the first time since his exclusivity deal with Mixer, after Mixer closed late last month.

Ninja had previously signed an exclusivity deal on Mixer, reportedly for $50 million USD. However, Mixer was closed by Microsoft on July 22nd. Video Games Chronicle reports that Ninja had received a payout of $30 million USD to release him from said exclusivity.

Now, Ninja has announced his return to Twitch, and becoming an affiliate in his first livestream [1, 2, 3]. The stream achieved almost 64,000 total views, though the Verge reports the viewing figures were almost 100,000 just 15 minutes into the stream. His stream on YouTube on July 8th achieved over 4 million views.

As Ninja has streamed on both Twitch and YouTube, it seems unlikely he is under an exclusivity deal. While he may be weighing up his options, it will be curious to see if he will go to exclusivity again.

Back in 2018, Ninja became the first streamer to appear on the cover of ESPN the Magazine.
