Independent developer Infinite Fall has announced what is hopefully the final release date for Night in the Woods, their Kickstarter-funded narrative adventure game.
The game is now planned for a February 21st release, following their announced delay last month. The game was originally planned for a release on January 10th, over three years since it was crowdfunded back in November of 2013.
When talking about the game’s development, they said: “We’re not a big company. The core team is 3 people working out of our small apartments. I’m one of them. Hello. We’ve only been in the same room irl like 4 or 5 times for a few days over the past 3 years. No offices, no payroll. US and Canada.”
The developer talked up their studio and development when compared to larger, more funded projects: “People have a tendency to see all games as coming from companies with big PR teams and producers and fancy workplaces and so forth. Even our amazing publisher Finji is a literal mom and pop operation run (very ably) out of their house in Michigan.”
Night in the Woods is planned for a release on PC, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4.
