Independent developer Messhof has announced Nidhogg 2, a follow-up to their side-scrolling combat game that launched back in 2014.
The new game comes with a bold new art style, and is set for a 2017 release on PC. Messhof also teased “maybe some other platforms” for the game.
Here’s a list of what to expect in the sequel, via Messhof:
- Completely overhauled detailed environments and animations
- 10+ levels of fencing goodness
- Local and online multiplayer and tournament mode
- Play single-player against a series of AI opponents with occasional special challenge rounds
- New soundtrack featuring music by Mux Mool, Dose One, Daedelus and more!
- Even more stuff we’ll talk about soon…
Nidhogg 2 is also playable at this year’s TwitchCon, beginning today through October 2nd, in San Diego.
