Today’s Niche Spotlight is Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen; a part visual novel, part strategy RPG.
As previously reported, the game is a remake of the first Utawarerumono game- which was never released in the west. Each character has their own set of abilities and skills, which can be chained together by themselves or with their allies.
While beast people live in tribes on the outskirt of civilization, a young girl from one of these settlements brought a dying young man to her village. While he recovered, he lost all his memories.
Later called Hakuolo, he adapted to life in the village. After a bountiful harvest, a local feudal lord sends his troops to seize the food for himself. This leads to the events of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
The Windows PC version of the game will feature Japanese voice acting with Japanese, English, and Chinese subtitles. The game will also feature an improved translation used in the currently available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
