In today’s Spotlight I’d like to cover Bunker Punks, a retro-inspired FPS with roguelite elements by Ninja Robot Dinosaur.

The game left Steam Early Access, and is now available for Windows PC and Mac via Steam – the game is currently 40% off its usual $14.99 price. You can find the original launch trailer above.

In Bunker Punks, you lead a gang of revolutionaries in a dystopian future controlled by greedy megacorporations (In other words, it takes place next Tuesday). The overarching goal is to tear down the megacorps by raiding their facilities for the weapons and supplies you need to expand your underground bunker stronghold, recruit new allies, and research skills and abilities.

The actual raids come in the form of fast-paced FPS action inspired by the glory days of ’90s PC gaming. Each mission will have you explore a procedurally generated facility guarded by the latest in high tech corporate guard drones, defense turrets, and traps.

Here’s a rundown of the game:

Bunker Punks is a fast paced rogue-light FPS set in a dystopian future. Run a group of revolutionaries and raid corporate strongholds for supplies, weapons and armor. Customize your bunker, train your gang and tear down the corporate government.

Key Features:

• CLASSIC FPS GAMEPLAY – Heavily inspired by the classic FPS games of the early 90’s: High-speed-action, circle-strafing and unloading a stream of bullets into enemies.
• BUNKER BUILDING – Build and upgrade new rooms in your bunker to buff your punks, improve your economy and enable new abilities. It’s a non-linear skill tree for a wide variety of play styles.
• RANDOMLY GENERATED LEVELS – Every level is procedurally generated. The layout is different, the enemies are different, the loot is different, even the propaganda posters on the walls are different. You never know what’s around the next corner.
