Today’s Niche Spotlight is Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, a retro-inspired JRPG by Rideon and Kemco.

You play as Volker, a humble blacksmith in the desert kingdom of Muspelheim with aspirations of becoming a famous adventurer. However, the young man’s blacksmith has also become the royal blacksmith.

Balance your budding smithy shop with your adventuring, all while gradually being drawn into the political intrigue and war engulfing Muspelheim. Gather resources in the wilderness to craft items that you can display and sell in your shop, or equip your party with.

Take on quests, interact with the populace of Muspelheim, and form a party of veteran adventurers. Each party member can also be customized with 14 classes (as well as assigning sub-classes), faith, and passive skills.

Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom is available on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Android, and iOS.

Muspelheim, a nation of desert and wilderness, also named as “the Sand Kingdom.” Volker, a blacksmith’s son, always dreamed of becoming an adventurer, but he finds himself adventuring aiming to become a court blacksmith at the same time!

Adventure into dungeons, get materials by gathering and looting monsters, then craft high quality equipment. Whether you equip them or display and sell them in your shop is up to you. Find other party members at the Guild and fulfill requests to progress through the story and earn rewards. There are 14 classes, faith selection, and passive skills that grant you free character customization!
