December, the final month of the year, has finally arrived. Along with it comes the holiday season with most people looking for gifts to give.
While November is typically the month for most major releases to catch the Black Friday sales, there are still some great titles yet to come for this year.
Since most games don’t launch in the latter half of December due to leaving room for dev teams to enjoy Christmas, a lot of these titles are coming out very soon. In fact, some of them are already out now on the day this article is published:

Meaning those who already enjoyed the classics have plenty of reason to replay a great game and there’s many gameplay improvements as well to draw in newer fans.
Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered comes out for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, Android, and PC (via Steam) on December 1st.
3. The Callisto Protocol
Before the Dead Space Remake comes to scare us all again, The Callisto Protocol will have us covered until then. But don’t just think this is just some mere clone. It has Glen Schofield directing it, who was the co-creator of Dead Space.
Originally envisioned to be part of the PUBG universe, the project grew into something completely separate and also stars notable actors such as Josh Duhamel, Karen Fukuhara, and Sam Witwer.

4. Marvel’s Midnight Suns
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a game developed by Firaaxis, the minds behind many titles such as Civilization and XCOM. Midnight Suns most certainly takes after the latter as players will command notable Marvel super heroes in combat against evil.
Heroes that you’ll be able to command include legends such as Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, and the Hulk. Though the rosters goes far beyond them and chances are Marvel fans are likely to find a favorite of theirs to use to succeed in combat.

5. Need for Speed Unbound
Need for Speed Unbound continues the long-running NFS franchise which has lasted nearly 30 years. While it contains many of the same elements to be expected from the racing series, Unbound stands out with its cel-shaded artstyle and stylistic graffiti effects during races.
This game also marks the return of Criterion Games as the developer, where they also received aid from Codemasters Cheshire in developing the new titles. Rapper A$AP Rocky will not only be lending his appearance and music to the game, but apparently will have his own game mode as well.
Need for Speed Unbound comes out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App) on December 2nd.

Samurai Maiden is a brand new title from the minds behind games such as Bullet Girls Phantasia and Kandagawa Jet Girls. Which means that one can expect some more raunchy moments to go along with the game’s story of Tsumugi Tamaori a high school girl who finds herself in the Sengoku period in Japan.
Though the game also promises exciting action gameplay mixed in a little bit with some more intimate moments between Tsumugi and the rest of the female cast.

9. High on Life
High on Life is brought by Justin Roiland, the mind behind the hit television series Rick and Morty. Who we also were able to share an interview with him on the upcoming game.
The game itself is a sci-fi shooter where the weapons players use are actually sentient. They’ll certainly need to make the most of their guns as the players also have to fight against aliens who plan on using humanity as drugs. Things will certainly be quite wacky throughout the adventure.
High on Life comes out on December 13th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).

With work on the Final Fantasy VII Remake in fully swing, Square Enix also announced the prequel, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII to be getting the remaster treatment with the Reunion edition.
While the game will play similar to that of the original, it will come with brand new improved 3D models, a new soundtrack by original composer Takeharu Ishimoto, and even some improvements to gameplay to take advantage of the better tech powering it. The game will most certainly be worth a revisit for old fans and a great experience for new ones as well.
