Summer has ended and we’re now entering into Autumn in full swing this year. That means now we can expect some of the biggest games the industry has to offer over the next few months to prepare for the holiday season.
September is packed with numerous titles ranging from the return of a long dormant franchise, the surprise release of an indie darling, and remakes of classic titles.
There’s sure to be something here for everyone in our new recap:
Hell Is Us
Hell is Us is an action-adventure title that takes players to a world ravaged by civil war and the rise of supernatural creatures. In order to survive and solve the mystery, players will have access to weapons of a different age to handle this threat.
With a unique exploration system that doesn’t rely on throwing checkpoints or quest markers, Hell is Us aims to bring an immersive experience that forces players to explore and progress without any handholding to guide them along the way.

Hollow Knight: Silksong
Years of silence followed by a surprise release year window during the Switch 2 direct has finally brought Hollow Knight: Silksong to light. Fans of the iconic metroidvania franchise can finally celebrate with the long anticipated sequel.
Following the hunter known as Hornet, players will explore a brand new world of the insect kingdom Pharloom. Numerous foes and powerful bosses await them as they engage with new features to aid them in both combat and exploration.

Cronos: The New Dawn
The latest survival horror experience by Bloober Team is here with Cronos: The New Dawn. A brutal new world finds players taking on the role of a traveler who goes beyond the fabric of time as they search for time rifts.
Their job won’t be simple, nor easy, as they’ll have to deal with terrifying creatures ready to bring an end to their life. Shooting them to death doesn’t mean the end either, as corpses left behind can be absorbed by living beings, creating monstrous and powerful abominations that are even more dangerous.
Cronos: The New Dawn is slated for a release on September 5th for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion
A brand new entry to the Daemon X Machina series is here with Titanic Scion. The action packed title brings about new world to explore and powerful foes to battle against, either solo or with up to two others online.
Players will have access to brand new customization options to their armor, allowing them to fully express their skills and design tastes to the battlefield.

Borderlands 4
The latest in the Borderlands franchise is here with the fourth mainline entry. A brand new world awaits as players choose from four new vault hunters as they land onto the world of Kairos. The planet is far from utopia as they’ll do battle against the tyrant known as the Timekeeper.
Fortunately they won’t have to do it alone as they’ll be able to find billions of weapons to add to their arsenal and with up to three other players through online play.
Borderlands 4 launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 12th.
Dying Light: The Beast
The iconic parkour zombie title is back with Dying Light: The Beast. Players will take on the role of Kyle Crane, who makes a return to the lead role after having spent the past decade in captivity and forced into experiments. Upon breaking out, he’s ready for revenge.
In order to enact his plan, he’ll have to rely on his skills in order to survive against the deadly zombie horde. Fortunately, or for him unfortunately, he have access to zombie DNA implanted in him, providing him strength. If he can tame it.
Dying Light: The Beast breaks out on September 19th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
A remake of the classic JRPG Trails in the Sky is here with the first of the trilogy arriving later this month. Follow protagonists Estelle and her brother Joshua in their journey to become bracers and respected members of their peacekeeping guild.
But life isn’t so simple and they’ll soon find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy plot that threatens the balance of the world they hold dear to their hearts. This remake brings about the classic tale with new gameplay features.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter makes its return on September 19th for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam).
Silent Hill f
The revival of the beloved horror franchise is finally here with a brand new mainline title in Silent Hill f. Taking a departure from what has been a staple of the series so far, this new game doesn’t not take place in the town where the game gets its namesake.
Instead, players will find themselves in 1960s Japan during a time of social change as they play as a young high school girl facing the pressures of society and now dangerous monsters.
Silent Hill f is set to release on September 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Sonic Racing returns with CrossWorlds, which brings a new twist to the formula as the iconic hedgehog and friends will take to the land, sea, and skies in fast paced racing action. A special mechanic sees racers traveling to different tracks each lap in order to mix things up as they travel between dimensions.
And while the racing series is no stranger to crossover characters, CrossWorlds turns this up a notch with the addition popular franchises such as Hatsune Miku, Persona 5, and Yakuza, to name a few.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds reaches the finish line on September 25th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian
The latest in the Atelier franchise is here with Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian, an adaption of the gacha game, but this time as a proper standalone title. Team up with allies from previous games as the heroes seek to learn the truth.
As expected from a proper release, players will engage in stunning turned based combat, synthesize items while developing their town, and explore strange areas in search of more materials.
Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian launches on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam) on September 26th.
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac
In celebration of the classic franchise’s 45th anniversary, a remake of the beloved platforming title is here for Pac-Man World 2. After a powerful ghost king is accidently freed, it’s up to the titular character to journey out and stop him.
Pac-Man will have an array of techniques he can use in order to traverse the lands and save the day. Beyond what was already in the original title, new features such as updated boss battles, character customization, and even a two player mode have been added into the game.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
The iconic tactical RPG returns with Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. Players can yet again experience the gripping tale of the strife within the kingdom of Ivalice that enthralled a generation decades ago.
While retaining much of what made the original title a classic, this remake also adds in numerous features thanks to innovations since the initial release. These include improved graphics, additional difficulty settings, auto save, and many more quality-of-life improvements.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is slated to release on September 30th for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
