Hopefully everyone’s staying cool for the summer. After a strong start to the season with the release of the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 last month. With July, there’s definitely a lull in the release schedule, as is normal for the gaming industry.
However as always, that doesn’t mean there’s no noteworthy releases heading our way very soon. In fact, there could even be a potential GOTY among this list.
Mecha Break
Mecha Break aims to bring fast paced mecha action with it’s intense and impactable gameplay. Players will be able to command a variety of mecha that provide different tools and strategy in order to succeed against their foes in battle.
With numerous options and game modes, such as PvP ranging from 3v3 or 6v6 and a PvPvE extraction mode. There is something here for anyone who’s a fan of mecha gameplay.
Mecha Break launches on July 1st for Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
Islanders: New Shores
Islanders: New Shores brings back the relaxing style of city-building. Players will be able to exercise their creative muscles as they create stunning landscapes and towns across the six distinct biomes and 44 building types.
Beyond the simple cozy vibes, more competitively inclined players will also be given options to create the best possible islands with the inclusion of boons, dynamic scoring systems, and a high score mode.
Islanders: New Shores is set to launch on July 10th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
Edens Zero
Based on the popular manga series, Edens Zero, players will find the world of Blue Garden come to life in the game. The entire planet is explorable, hiding within it tons of secrets for players to find and learn more about the world they’re in.
This action RPG follows the cast of Edens Zero as they find themselves in a brand new original adventure written just for the game. They’ll enjoy the numerous combos and attacks of the game’s cast reminiscent to that of the anime.
Edens Zero is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam) on July 15th.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a narrative driven stealth title set in early 1900s Scandinavia following Hanna as she sets off to find her brother after the latter’s disappearance. Throughout her journey she’ll have to rely on her skills and new allies she meets in order to hopefully succeed on her quest.
Players will have to utilize three characters, each with their own unique set of skills that’ll aid them in solving the numerous challenges before them. They’ll have to study their environments carefully and make tough choices in order to advance.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream sneaks in on July 15th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
Donkey Kong Bananza
While the exclusive lineup for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been minimal with only Mario Kart World, Nintendo has plans on filling out their roster with the first being Donkey Kong’s first 3D outing since the N64.
This title has all the hallmarks of a great Nintendo platformer and the triumphant return of longtime Mario character Pauline might have this being one of the biggest titles to come out this year.
Donkey Kong Bananza launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17th.
Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact
Despite the many hiatuses the manga has gone on, Hunter x Hunter fans can rejoice in getting a brand new game for the beloved series. This title aims to bring the spectacular battles from the anime in this tag based fighting game.
You’ll be able to make your dream team from the characters of the show, such as Gon, Killua, and even iconic villain Meruem as they use their unique nen abilities to devastate their foes with powerful combos.
Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact will release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam) on July 17th.
Shadow Labyrinth
The Pac-Man franchise makes a stunning return for the 45th anniversary of the iconic gaming series with Shadow Labyrinth. A unique take on the game with players going through a dark 2D action platformer.
On a mysterious planet as the swordsman, they’ll have to team up with a strange creature reminiscent of the iconic circle character as they fight to survive in the hopes of discovering the secrets of the world around them.
Shadow Labyrinth will launch on July 18th for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files
When a famous internet idol has been seemingly kidnapped by aliens, it’s up to Kaname Date to take on the investigation in order to rescue her. He’ll have to rely on his special powers and wits in order to solve this mystery.
Players will be able to use his special abilities to gather information, meet new characters, and enter the dream worlds of potential suspects in order to leave no stone unturned in their efforts of saving the beautiful damsel in distress.
No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files launches on July 25th for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam).
