Niche Gamer Plays – Arms Global Testpunch 2: Getting 100 Coins With Twintelle, Da Queen of Booty

Niche Gamer Plays is an ongoing video preview series where our staff take an in-depth and yet concise look at classic, current, and upcoming games across all current gaming platforms.

Yesterday we got a chance to play as best girl Twintelle, from Nintendo’s new competitive fighting game Arms. Using motion controls alone, we ended up earning 100 coins (The highest value seen during the entire stream so far) and managed to destroy the new boss battle they snuck into the game, Hedlok.

Hedlock appears to be a boss that takes over the body of another fighter, using their powers while also adding 4 extra arms, massive HP, and a extremely strong super attack.

Other events that we saw, were the target attack, and hoops modes, so if you are interested in those, take a watch.

If you have screen shots of your own adventures in the game, feel free to share them below. Arms is launching worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on June 16th. You can read about the entire Global Testpunch schedule here. You can also find us playing Arms for an hour here, from the first Global Testpunch.

So far it looks like Ribbon girl is the best character, because she has the most mobility being able to do up to 4 midair jumps.

I noticed no one was using their charged attacks in Arms. If you dash and keep holding the dash button you will charge your punches. Ribbon Girl, Twintelle and Spring Man have the best charge attacks so far.
Best fighting game imo, can’t wait till the 16th for this badboy:D

Imagine being so pavlov’s dogged on this waifu shit that you’re blind to this game’s characters looking like a 90’s cg cartoon.

Yeah I don’t “get” what everyone’s hype with this game is, but then again I didn’t get the whole Pokken or Splatoon thing either.

It looks pretty fun to play, and has a nice look going for it as well.

But I agree that it’s difficult to get excited when realizing this is a full price game, on an expensive as fuck handheld, that will have the actual game locked behind an online paywall.

Does it feel as stupid to use motion controls as it looks?

It’s a Nintendo game that’s within hardware launch period that means it has to have a certain hype narrative surrounded around it plus it’s balls deep in that waifu shit which creates a cocktail of high octane sperging.
