NicheCast – Episode 05

no man's sky 06-15-14-1

So you’re a regular visitor at Niche Gamer? The obscure games, the niche games, the weird games, whatever you want to call them—we love them and we know you love them as well. We only cover these games on our regular feed, and we only cover them on our podcast, too.

This week’s show is quite a long one, clocking in at just over two hours—and we go over the entirety of the news that pertains to niche gaming from E3 2014. We pick our games of the show, and ultimately rate each of the big three press events from Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft.

The staff on hand during the podcast also nominated their games of the show, and they are as follows:

  • Brandon: Bloodborne
  • Carl: No Man’s Sky
  • Josh: The Order: 1886
  • Rob: No Man’s Sky
  • Myles: Splatoon

So it looks like our game for E3 2014 is without a doubt No Man’s Sky! The game looks absolutely incredible, and what’s even more amazing about it is that it was created by a four-man team from Guildford, England.

You can enjoy our podcast below, or you can download it here (right click and save as).

Without further ado, here is the Bloodborne-themed giveaway that we were teasing on Twitter and such. We have an exclusive Bloodborne t-shirt (size: large) to give away to our fans. You can view it below:

All you have to do is comment on the article for the podcast here with your game of E3 2014, and we’ll pick the winner a week from today, on June 22nd.

The songs featured in today’s podcast are Dream Dreams (Disco NiGHTS Mix) from the NiGHTS: Lucid Dreaming remix album, and a remix of the Chrono Trigger theme from the official remix album, SQ Chips.
