I’m back with another batch of recent Early Access release highlights. As always, even if you don’t like buying titles that are still in Early Access, remember to wishlist any games that catch your attention so you’ll be notified when they get a full release.
Here are five Early Access games that might be worth checking out:
Second Extinction
Developer: Systemic Reaction
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $24.99 (Price will increase)
First up this week is Second Extinction, a co-op focused FPS about retaking Earth from mutant dinosaurs. Up to three players can team up to take on various missions and activities to reduce the dinosaur threat in an area on a global campaign map.
The dinosaurs are also expanding, and at the end of every week, the campaign map will be updated based on the actions of both the players and their AI-driven dinosaur adversaries.
Second Extinction doesn’t currently have a final release date target.
Democracy 4
Developer: Positech Games
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $26.99
Democracy 4 is the latest installment in Positech’s long-running political sandbox sim. As with previous games in the series, Democracy 4 allows players to go wild implementing policies, watching how they change the country and affect public opinion. You’ll also have to worry about how all of your policies will affect your chances at being elected for another term.
Democracy 4 will get a full release in early 2021.
Soldat 2
Developer: Transhuman Design
Platforms: Windows PC, Linux, Mac
Price: $14.99 (Price will increase)
Soldat 2 is another new sequel to a really long-running game series. The classic physics-based deathmatch gameplay of the original is back, with a variety of new additions and features that will gradually be added throughout the Early Access period.
The game already has a built-in level editor; and will focus on including even more expanded mod support and customization options as development continues.
Soldat 2 will remain in Early Access for around 24 months.
Ragnorium
Developer: Vitali Kirpu
Publisher: Devolver Digital
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $24.99 (Price will increase)
Ragnorium is a recolonization sim where players are tasked with reclaiming post-apocalyptic worlds. Send out expeditions of cloned colonists to planets, scavenge for resources and useful items, research new technologies, and establish a thriving colony on previously deserted worlds.
Ragnorium will be in Early Access for between 12 to 24 months.
Craft In Abyss
Developer: firepillar2
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $9.99
Finally, we come to Craft In Abyss, a base building tower defense roguelite. Gather resources, build modular mobile fortresses, acquire passive skill upgrades, and defend yourself from waves of enemies in a dangerous deep sea world.
Craft In Abyss will be in Early Access for around four months.
