Niche Early Access – Neon Noodles, WRATH: Aeon of Ruin, and More

This is Niche Early Access. In this column, we regularly showcase various promising games that are currently in some form of early access or development, and haven’t reached full release. Please let us know if there’s a game you want us to showcase!

I’m back with another batch of promising games that recently entered Steam Early Access. Even if you don’t like buying titles that are still in Early Access, remember to wishlist any games that catch your attention so you’ll be notified when they get a full release.

Here’s 5 new Early Access games that might be worth checking out:


Wildermyth
Developer: Worldwalker Games
Platforms: Windows PC, Mac, Linux
Price: $19.99

First up this week is Wildermyth, a procedurally generated, narrative-driven tactical RPG. The game invites you to craft your own myths and folklore by recruiting a ramshackle band of farmers and civilians and molding them into heroes of legend. As your heroes grow, they can gain powerful abilities, become cursed or maimed, form strong bonds between each other, or heroically sacrifice themselves to save the rest of the party. Wildermyth will remain in Early Access for somewhere between six months to a year.

Devil Slayer – Raksasi
Developer: GlassesCatGames
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $9.99 (Price may increase)

Devil Slayer – Raksasi is a top-down dungeon crawler with roguelite elements. The game features six playable waifus, each of which has their own starting weapon and attack patterns. The game’s combat is focused on perfectly-timed dodges, parries, and counterattacks, and there’s over 150 relics to find that will aid you on your journey.

Devil Slayer – Raksasi will be in Early Access for about a year.

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin
Developer: KillPixel
Publisher: 3D Realms, 1C Entertainment
Platform: Windows PC

Price: $24.99 (Price will increase) 

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is the latest ’90s-fueled old school FPS to hit PC. The game runs on a modified version of the Quake 1 engine, with an aesthetic to match its roots. Blast your way through hordes of the undead and other monstrous creatures with an arsenal of over-the-top weapons, each of which has an alternate firing mode.

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin‘s full version is targeting a Summer 2020 release.

Neon Noodles – Cyberpunk Kitchen Automation
Developer: Vivid Helix
Platforms: Windows PC, Linux
Price: $14.99 (Price will increase)

Neon Noodles is an open-ended puzzle game about programming cooking robots in a cyberpunk dystopia. Inspired by the infamously intricate puzzle games by Zachtronics, Neon Noodles is all about space management and creating a perfectly synchronized and hyper efficient production line to maximize the number of meals you can create each minute.

Neon Noodles – Cyberpunk Kitchen Automation will be in Early Access for about six months.

This Land Is My Land
Developer: Game-Labs
Platform: Windows PC
Price: $39.99 (Price may increase)

Finally, we come to This Land Is My Land, an open-world survival game where you play as a Native American chief leading a guerilla war against American settlers. Craft weapons and traps, form alliances with other tribes, and lead your warriors in battle as you fight to reclaim and preserve your ancestral lands.

This Land Is My Land will be in Early Access for around six months to a year.
