Nicalis Teases Five Switch Ports Including Code of Princess, VVVVVV, More

Nicalis has teased a bunch of new ports for the Nintendo Switch.

The news comes via an image the publisher posted on Twitter (via NeoGAF), which confirms five ports are heading to the hybrid console.

The five blurred images include a few titles we’ve deduced, including:  Code of Princess by Studio Saizensen, VVVVVV by Terry Cavanagh, and 1001 Spikes by Nicalis.

It’s worth mentioning Nicalis previously confirmed 1001 Spikes for the Switch a bit ago, so we’re not sure why they’ve blurred it. The remaining two reveals still elude us.

Oh boy! More scraps, I mean ports for an underwhelming console!

Is that first blurred game Mega Man Zero possibly?

The blurred image above the Binding of Isaac could be “Castle in the Darkness”.

I’m actually excited for Code of Princess – the character designs are quite nice, and I like fighting games.

I’m pretty sure Code of Princess is a 2D hack and slash for the 3DS. The main character is featured in the upcoming fighting game Blade Strangers, which is probably what you are thinking of.

Why would Nicalis be publishing Mega Man Zero?

Always good to see new games get ported to Switch. :)

Hmmm… isn’t it funny how it’s not all that difficult for small developers to port projects to Switch? It’s almost like major third party developers aren’t even trying…

Code of princess is cool, I just hope that they include the original Japanese audio this time, cuz the English dub stinks

That’s a silly statement, off the top of my head I can think of 4 reasons already why these games are more likely to come to switch than any other large third-party title!

Code of Princess will be interesting to see how they upres the art because they were able to sneak in a zombie nipple in the original with a T rating. I doubt they will get that lucky this time.

Its almost like porting handheld games and small indie titles is way easier than large-scale ‘AAA’ ones. Shocking, I know.:P

I really like Code of Princess, but I really think they should update the sprite work if they wanna launch it on the Switch, after all, the graphics, for as stylized and nice they were, weren’t top tier even by 3DS standards.

Switch is 3 percent Nintendo games and 97 percent indie trash.

VVVVVV is one of the best $1.99 games I ever purchased. I’m sure it’ll be over $10 on the Nintendo eshop.
