Capcom has reiterated the next Mega Man game is still in development.
The news comes via Mega Man series producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya at this year’s Tokyo Game Show (via Gamer.ne), where the series producer confirmed the game is still coming.
“Personally there are a lot of other titles that I want to do. But in fact we decided on the next titles to be developed, so we won’t reveal that today. Please look forward to our announcement,” Tsuchiya said when asked if there are more games in the series planned.
He added, “But the Mega Man series, we think every title is a main title, not a spinoff. If we talk about Mega Man, there is always a person called “X”, as well as someone called “EXE”, and I think the appearance of Mega Man depends on the generation. So, I don’t want to deny any future of the Mega Man series.”
Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is launching for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on January 21st, 2020.
The latest game in the series, Mega Man 11 is out now on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we can’t recommend it enough!).
