We previously reported on BioWare polling fans on a new tactical game set within the Dragon Age universe. Now, we’ve learned a new game in the series is officially happening, and its lead writer has been confirmed.
The writer is none other than Alexis Kennedy, the scribe behind Sunless Sea. The news comes via an interview with Eurogamer, where Kennedy talks up his involvement with the project:
“There are huge differences between all of that and what I’m working on at BioWare, which I can now legitimately say is in the Dragon Age franchise although it has been known for a while,” Kennedy said.
“Notionally it was a secret but, because of who I was working with, everyone who cared knew. And then the day I started, Mark Darrah [executive producer of the Dragon Age franchise] tweeted saying ‘welcome to the Dragon Age franchise’, so I thought, well, I guess that’s official now then.”
The latest game in the series, Dragon Age: Inquisition (featured above), was released back in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. What kind of game would you like to see in the Dragon Age franchise? Sound off in the comments below!
