New Xbox Series X UI Revealed, Coming to Xbox One and Xbox Apps Holiday 2020

Microsoft have unveiled the new UI and more features for the upcoming Xbox Series X, and that it will be coming to all Xbox applications Holiday 2020.

In a blog post on Xbox Wire, Head of Xbox Research & Design Chris Novak explains that while developing the “ecosystem” for users, across all their devices.

“All the ways you experience Xbox should feel inviting and familiar, whether you’re on the couch playing on your console, rallying a group of friends together from your PC, or sneaking in a quick session on your Android device via cloud gaming. The new Xbox look and feel is designed to be faster to use, more approachable and visually appealing.”

The UI will be shared on Xbox mobile Apps, Xbox Game Pass on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X from Holiday 2020. It boasts more legible text, and other elements being easier to see and recognize at a glance.

The home screen will also load 50% faster (as per the boasted faster load times for all games on the console), and loads 30% faster when returning from a game. All this is done with 40% less memory than on Xbox One. The Microsoft Store will also launch in an estimated two seconds.

There will also be a new Xbox mobile app, and improvements in “integrating your phone into the social experiences on Xbox, letting you share and connect with your existing network of friends more easily.” This includes sharing updates and game clips on social media via the Xbox mobile app.

In earlier news, an Epic Games announcement for a Fortnite retail bundle may have just revealed a potential launch date window for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This would be around November 13th to the 20th.
