Sega have dropped a new trailer for Valkyria Chronicles 4 showing off some of its new features and mechanics.

These include the diverse environments, being able to call in artillery support, dodging enemy grenadiers as they reign down mortar fire, and using your own for the same. One last mechanic only briefly shown was “Last Stand”. Judging by its name and the context, it seems that when a character dies under certain circumstances, you may choose to “inspire” or “stand up”.

From other videos, we think stand up might give a character one last action and movement before it is knocked out (as characters are not truly dead unless three turns pass while they are knocked out, or an enemy gets to them before they can be evacuated). We are under the assumption that inspire sacrifices that unit to give a bonus to one or more allied units. We will keep our eyes peeled for more information.

Finally, the video closes on the Memoirs of Battle Premium Edition, including controller skins, 103 page artbook, Hafen Tank Vinyl statue, and 2 DLC side missions featuring members of Squad 7 from the first Valkyria Chronicles game.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 will launch September 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and XBox One.
