GKIDS have released a teaser trailer for Weathering With You, and have revealed the film’s North American premiere date.

Weathering With You will premiere on January 17th 2020 in select North American cinemas.

Originally debuting on Japan on July 19th, the film became the 7th highest-growing domestic film of all time in Japan, and the highest-grossing film in Japan this year. The film has been submitted to the Best International Feature Film category at the 92nd Academy Awards.

The film technically premiered during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8th, 10th, and 14th.

It was directed by Makoto Shinkai, produced by Story Inc., and animated by CoMix Wave Films.
