Paramount Pictures have released a new trailer for the Sonic The Hedgehog movie, along with a new redesign of Sonic.
The debut trailer was met with negative reception from fans due to Sonic’s hyper-realistic appearance giving a strong uncanny valley vibe. Paramount Pictures then announced the character would be redesigned, and delayed the film to February 14th, 2020.
Sonic’s look seems to have taken more inspiration from his classic look- something fans had proposed with their own mock-ups and work.
You can find the full run-down below:
“Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.”
