If you aren’t that big of a Dragon Ball fan, you may have missed the literal fact that the Japan Anniversary Association designated May 9th officially as Goku Day. That’s right – an entire day to celebrate the legendary saiyan that has sacrificed and saved humanity countless times.
Featured above, you can view a new trailer from Bandai Namco that celebrates Goku Day, via the latest video game adaptation in the franchise – Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Why is May 9th officially recognized as Goku Day, you ask? The reasoning comes from the Japanese language where the number 5 is pronounced Go and the number 9 is pronounced Ku – put them together and you obviously have Goku!
Dragon Ball FighterZ is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).
