For fans of the series, how is this game supposed to be? Vita version in particular.
I recently picked up memories of celceta and have been enjoying it, is VIII good as well?
Is origin any good, too? I’m assuming the vita port is fine enough, considering the game has some basic graphics.

It will probably come soon after, Falcom has a very long history on PC and NISA has started getting into ports too.

It’s being localised by NISA, that in itself should be enough of a reason to avoid it, or at least buy pre owned.
I say this being a fan of the series myself.

I think he was talking about the day one edition, it’s already planned for a steam release, but no physical one.

Blame Valve. Can’t sell physical copies of games if they’re not allowed to give out keys until the game is on sale on Steam.

I heard the game is a bit laggy. I’d say get it on PS4 or Steam if you can as it’ll have additional content along with it running better.

I’m just gonna pirate, might have to wait for a fan patch to fix all of NISAs fuck ups though.

If you look closely NISA only give physical copies for games either on preorder or that were released. They always open physical copies on their EU store right after the game get released on Steam.

I’m going to wait until i see in the discussions on Steam that everything is ok. It’s very difficult for me to expect something good from NISA

Since I haven’t played Ys VIII I can only tell you what I’ve heard, it seems to be the best Ys, getting lots of praise, but the Vita version has slowdowns, and less content than the PS4 version

And if you liked Celceta you will most probably love VIII, personally Celceta was so underwhelming, I didn’t even bother to touch it again after beating the last boss unlike other Ys games

Now about Origin, the game is really good, can’t tell about the Vita version, but the gameplay is really polished, the story while simple, it’s enjoyable, the soundtrack, like always is really good.

The lines in red remind me of Bobobo. Not always a bad thing, especially considering japanese ‘humor’, but I get the gist.
