Techland and developer inXile Entertainment have shown off a new trailer for Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Featured above, the new trailer shows off what sets the combat apart in the Planescape: Torment spiritual successor. You can have up to three companions join you, and you’ll have complete control over your party in combat.

Each character has their own unique abilities, and winning conditions aren’t set in stone – you can sometimes even talk your way out of a battle.

A noteworthy item to pay attention to are the cyphers, which can enable you to turn the tide of a battle going awry. However, if you stow too many cyphers, they could explode and backfire. There’s another penalty, ‘Cypher Sickness,’ which inflicts a stat penalty on a party member that is lugging too many of the things around.

Torment: Tides of Numenera will launch on February 28th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game has several different release versions, including a day-one edition and a limited collector’s edition.
