The newest anime adaptation of Spice and Wolf is set to premiere this April as part of the Spring 2024 anime season.

Originally announced 2022, the series is based off of a light novel by writer-artist duo Isuna Hasekura and Juu Ayakura. Since then, the series has grown to become a popular multimedia franchise with multiple video games, a manga, and multiple anime seasons.

The series follows the traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence. Upon arriving at a small farming village, Lawrence happens to meet Holo, an ancient wolf spirit who acts as the village’s harvest deity.

In the years since Holo’s arrival, the people of the village have grown vindictive and distrustful of Holo, considering her to be fickle at best. Thus she leaves the village at Lawrence’s side, to put her unwanted past behind her.
