New skate. trailer shows pre-alpha footage and playtesting opportunities

Skate

When the latest title in EA’s Skate series was announced back in 2021, the developers had very little to show.

But after a year with no official updates, a new skate. trailer dropped showing some of the progress the team has made.

The short trailer mostly showcases the advancements made in hair and clothing physics from the previous title in the series. However, some new tricks and mechanics were also briefly shown, including hippy flips and improved platforming. Crossplay and cross-progression on both PC and consoles was alluded to, although not explicitly confirmed.

The new skate. trailer ended with an invitation for players to enroll in the skate. insider program. This closed playtesting program is only available for PC players at the moment, with other consoles likely to be supported for future playtests. By allowing players access to pre-alpha builds, this playtesting program aims to involve players in the decision making process far earlier in its development.
