Once a single-character, single-player action “strategy” game, Codemasters Overlord is getting an action RPG, Diablo-esque spinoff called Overlord: Fellowship of Evil. Though we first reported on it back in April, there weren’t many images to be seen of the new title. This changes today, with the release of a new trailer that is pitched as a message to the player from the “Ministry of Information”. Looking at the two pandas being roasted on spits, I’d say they definitely captured that familiar Overlord feeling.
Layering on the series’ dark humor and funny way of “doing evil”, there still looks to be a great game under all the laughs. Would-be players are able to choose from four “Netherghūls” – undead knights resurrected to fill the void left by the real Overlord’s unfortunate absence. Each Netherghūl gets their own cadre of minions, which means the action gets pretty crowded with a full group of four players.
There’s no date for the game, but you can see the new screenshots, as well as the developer’s updates, on its official Steam page. Besides the PC, the game will also launch of the Xbox One and PS4 as well, though a release date has yet to be revealed.
