Square Enix have published a demonstration of their “arcade for online 1vs1 Tactical 5D action” video game, School of Ragnarok. (According to Famitsu, the game is referred to as “5D” because it mixes 2D and 3D perspectives.)
The above video shows players what to expect. We’re shown character customization and spirit selection, after which we get to see two transfer students battling each other. The game involves the school students fighting each other via melee, ranged, and magical attacks, while their spirit companions buff them and occasionally attack opponents. (Also according to Famitsu, each spirit—or god, as they’re also referred to—has a specific weapon associated with it.)
The fighting game was revealed last week, followed by a trailer, and a demonstration at the Taipei Game Show
School of Ragnarok will be in Japanese arcades some time this year.
