Sega has confirmed they’ll release their new Sakura Wars game next year.
The news comes via their latest financial report, which lists the game as releasing within this fiscal year – which ends on March 31st of 2019.
Other games listed in the report are Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and the modern re-releases of Shenmue I and Shenmue II.
The last and fifth game in the series was Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, which saw a release on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. It was finally localized five years later by NIS America, and later ported to the Wii.
The series has been known for genre-hopping and mashing up various themes, including various tactical role-playing, dating sim and visual novel elements. So Long, My Love even included mecha that the heroines pilot in combat.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
