Two likely upcoming announcements for QuakeCon 2021 have leaked; a new Quake game, and DOOM Slayers Collection on Nintendo Switch.

The ESRB lists Quake for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The M for Mature rated game will feature time-travel to save humanity, all the way back to medieval times, but with modern guns and demonic foes. You can find the ESRB description below.

“This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a soldier that travels through time to stop an evil force from destroying humanity. Players traverse through maze-like medieval enviornments and use shotguns, nail guns, and grenade launchers to kill various enemies (e.g., zombies, demonic forces, scorpions, humans) in frenetic run-and-gun combat. Battles are accompanied by gunfire sounds, screams of pain, and large explosions. Large blood-splatter effects occur frequently, and several attack cause enemies to explode into bloody chunks. Some areas depict mutilated body parts on the ground or falling from ceilings.”

As previously reported, the schedule for QuakeCon 2021 originally stated there would be a “revitalized edition” of Quake, but was quickly scrubbed. Previous rumors claimed the game would be developed by id Software and Machine Games, and would feature a female protagonist.

In addition, Best Buy has a listing for “DOOM Slayers Collection” on Nintendo Switch. The collection had previously been available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; featuring Doom (1993), Doom 2, Doom 3, and Doom (2016). However, this Nintendo Switch version also features Doom 64. The price is listed as $49.99 USD at this time of writing. You can find the Best Buy description below.

“The DOOM Slayers Collection takes players through more than two decades of demon slaying – from the classic games that popularized the first-person shooter to the fan favorite franchise reboot, wield an arsenal of powerful weapons as you battle demon hordes on Mars, on Earth, and across Hell in five critically acclaimed games. Five Critically Acclaimed Games: DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 64, DOOM 3, DOOM (2016)”

QuakeCon 2021 runs from August 19th to August 21st via Twitch.
