The Pokémon Company and Bandai Namco and The Pokemon Company have announced that a new fighter is going to be revealed for Pokkén Tournament.

The new combatant will be unveiled on January 15th, and the only teaser we have is that said Pokemon’s name has the letter “ラ” in Japanese, or “ra,” which can also be read as “la” (My hope is for Rattata).

We previously reported on the latest addition to the game – Sceptile, so it should be interesting to see what Pokemon makes the cut.

Pokkén Tournament has been available in Japanese arcades, and it set for a Wii U release in Japan on March 18th, followed by a spring release in both North America and Europe.
