Update: We have learned through the first episode synopsis (via Crunchyroll) that the episode will focus on Pikachu’s origins- all the way from a baby Pichu.

In a forest somewhere in Kanto, there once was a lonely Pichu. This Pichu – who was still quite young – had a certain encounter and farewell. This took place shortly before Ash and his partner Pikachu started travelling together. This is the beginning of the anime “Pocket Monster.”

A new trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Anime has been revealed.

While the debut trailer showed no animation, the above trailer shows the new animation and characters coming to the long-running series.

The first episode of the series will be called “Birth of Pikachu”, and will feature flashbacks of when Ash first met Pikachu. From prior news, we know this will be an hour-long special.

The new Pokemon anime will air November 17th in Japan, on TV Tokyo at 6 pm JST.
