New Mana Game is in Development for Consoles

A new Mana game is in development for consoles, series producer Masaru Oyamada announced during the Mana series 30th anniversary livestream.

Oyamada confirmed the news during the livestream (via Games Jouhou), noting the game is currently in development – but they couldn’t announce it today.

“It would have been nice if we could have announced it here in a cool video, but we’ve only just begun our 30th anniversary,” Oyamada said. “To be honest, we’re still developing it. To be honest, we are developing it, but please wait a little longer for the announcement. In fact, Mr. Ishii (Koichi Ishii, the creator of the Mana series) took a look at it the other day. That’s how far we’ve come, so I hope you’ll look forward to it. We still have a long way to go in development…. We’re preparing to bring it to consoles, so we hope you’ll wait for us.”

The latest game in the series, the Legend of Mana remaster, was just released for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review on the game here.
