New Livestream Gameplay for Left Alive

Square Enix conducted a livestream of Left Alive, and showed off around thirty minutes of gameplay.

The two gameplay segments come at 16:12, 39:00, 53:45, and 1:05:47. All segments show gameplay from the first chapter of the game and protagonist Mikhail. The game seems focused on action and survival.

Other protagonists include Olga and Leonid. While they do not have different stats, the game’s director (Toshifumi Nabeshima) explained they find different items. For example, Mikhail finds more weapons while Olga finds more items.

While the game’s save points are not safe havens, they do feature machines that heal you (with limited uses) and an item box for storage (since many items have a weight cost). Unlike other games, the item boxes are not magically linked together- and each is independent. Though other characters can pick up what another leaves behind.

When playing online, you can find bodies of other players who died in a similar place. They can be looted for rare items, but the player may be put in some form of danger. Whether this is another mechanic or other players heading for the loot able to fight you was not specified. Finally, the game has New Game Plus.

Left Alive is launching on March 5th for Windows PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe.
