New Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailer Focuses on Story Moments

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have shared a new trailer Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Featured above, the official story trailer shows off a wide variety of environments, main characters, villains, monsters, and more.

Naturally, if you want to avoid spoiling things you should avoid trailers like this until the full release.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is launching for PlayStation 4 on February 28th.

I’m kinda disappointed. I was hoping it would be a pseudo-monster hunter/survival game where you go out and wreck monsters, salvage their parts, make better gear, then go on to wreck bigger monsters. But glimpsing the story it just seems kinda… tacked on? Like for some reason it just doesn’t sit well with me. Game overall looks pretty decent though. No idea how it plays.

I didn’t expect the game to have a major human villain. The voice acting
is a bit dull (who would’ve thought with talents like Burch on the job), but boy do the graphics look amazing. This disparity may
lead me to forget story elements.

Looks okay. Really pretty, but okay.
And I hope that those clips don’t all match up with the voices. Some of those spots the lip syncing looked like the sort of thing you’d see on PS2.

I hope this is good because I was actually looking forward to it.

    >Main character from Heavenly Sword
    >Gameplay from Nu Tomb Raider
    >World from Enslaved Odisey to the West

So far it looks like a fussion of 3 mediocre games
Let’s hope they don’t fuck it up

I always thought that Killzone had the potential for a good and engaging story in a shooter. However, I never feel that they never quite hit that mark, and always fell short. For example, the games always seem to hint that the ISA may be not as virtuous, and more of a villain as we think, and that the Helghast have some justification for what they are doing, but then throw it all away by making every single one of them practically be super space Nazi’s with irredeemable qualities. (Haven’t played Shadow Fall yet).

I am not going to bother watching this. I know I probably won’t check the game out until much later when it is cheaper, but I don’t want to potentially spoil anything. I never trust trailers anymore.

Is no one else annoyed by the weird eyes of the female lead? they are, like, to close to each other

This will sound like a Nintendo fanboy comment, but when they showed this at E3 it looked cool, but it looked tedious as hell and not that fun. Then 10 minutes later Nintendo showed Zelda and it didn’t look as graphically as impressive but it looked like it was doing about the same kinds of things, except it looked like way way more fun.

I think the majority of consumers want something that looks better than plays better, but for me, that is why I keep going back to Nintendo even though they piss me the hell off most of the time (NOA anyway). They still know how to make games fun to play, which I think is the most important aspect of a video game.

I can get schlocky sci-fi on a dozen other mediums.

Yeah as much as some people I know are hyped for this game, it seems more like style over substance in my eyes.

That was what I expected as well. A sort of open world Monster Hunter.

NOJ’s creativity outweighs NOA’s douche baggery.

another bull dyke game in another dull and sterile open world with a map littered with question marks, exclamation points, and skulls.

How many times are they guna recycle this assans creed formulae? It’s poisoning everything from metal gear to lord of the rings.

Plot twist: Zhe is the hero of the game.
