New Horizon: Zero Dawn Screenshots and Dev Diary

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have shared a developer diary, as well as a new batch of screenshots for Horizon: Zero Dawn.

The new screenshots depict the various robot baddies you’ll run into, its environments, as well as its protagonist, Aloy.

A new developer diary was published, giving a bit of background as to how the development team within Guerrilla Games crafted the various mechanized creatures that have taken control of the world.

Horizon: Zero Dawn takes place in the far-future, where humans lost their spot at the top of the food chain. Beaten down into a survival state, mankind has devolved into what is essentially the pre-historic era. The above video also reveals a new creature: the Snapmaw.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is launching February 28th of next year, for PlayStation 4.

No matter what fancy screenshots they bring us, until people get their hands on the game, everything could be bullshit…

If there are other voiced languages, I’ll consider it.

I have never seen such smooth animation, combined with detail and viewing distance in any game.

I don’t know about the gameplay yet until I play it, but the graphis are UN-freaking-BELIEVABLE!

Yeah, I haven’t been this excited for a AAA game for a while.

    PS4 buyer for me.

Guerrilla knows how to make a pretty looking game, I’ll give ’em that.

I haven’t bought too many Sony published games but Jak 3 even had a Russian voice over and we already heard samples of the Japanese voice over (presumably that version has all languages if not all versions).

No media outlet has bothered to ask if these are Pro shots or Regular PS4 shots…

With the pro launching soon, these things are gonna have to be made clear in press releases and shit cuz otherwise you’re gonna have a lot non-Pro users bitching up a storm when their game looks nothing like the screenshots released.

I mean if you think the crying about “bullshots” is bad now, unless distinctions start to be made, it’s only going to get worse.

I really like the creature design. The alligator one looks awesome. I’m curious to see what Guerrilla will do when they are out of their comfort zone.

It won’t surprise me if it was PS4pro only, the game’s visuals and performance are really impressive in this vid but we will see…

In all honesty, these do seem like bullshots beyond the capabilities of either system.

hopefully an open world game with “natural” enemy behavior rather than static spawns and same ols same old, “ubisoft the open world game with towers and map mess” thing. not long until we see the damage this set of hype has on those foolish enough to dream.

Is there something wrong with her? Other than the main character sounds like a complete bitch?

Gameplay already showed tower creatures you have to climb to unlock the surrounding area on your map. That honestly depressed me a bit.

There’s plenty of drama to choose from, but my problem is the fact she’s only got two voices: Tiny TIna and Ashly Burch.
