Since going rogue and fully independent, IO Interactive has fully retained the rights to the Hitman franchise.

While they’ve launched a new GOTY edition with new content for the latest game in their franchise, we’ve learned (via Deadline) they’ve also secured a deal for a new TV series based on the game, and it already has some talent behind the adaptation.

The new TV series is a collaborative effort between Fox 21 and Hulu, with a script penned by Derek Kolstad, the man who both created and wrote the Keanu Reeves action-thriller movie series John Wick.

It’s worth pointing out that Fox was in charge of the previous two movies based on the franchise, so it’s certainly interested to see they’re changing things up a bit in a bid for a new TV series. Fox also noted “the hope is for Hitman to become a flagship series.”

Furthermore, the news also confirms that two more Hitman games are in development within IO Interactive. We already knew they were working on at least one new game, so who knows what the second one could be.
