It is said that after a special screening of the “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” movie, an announcement for the franchise is supposedly coming.

A Twitter account alleged that Japanese fans of the classic series were told at the movie’s credits to watch the website for a future announcement:

There’s no official confirmation as to what this announcement will be (if any), but fans of the series have been let down before, such as the whole scavenger hunt that merely led to the announcement of a pachinko game.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was an incredibly popular anime that debuted in 2006, it became a phenomenon in both Japan and the west, highly influencing anime culture.
