In a surprising move by Rockstar, today’s Grand Theft Auto Online Doomsday Heist update adds a brand new radio station created in collaboration with critically acclaimed R&B artist Frank Ocean.
Teased yesterday on Frank’s Tumblr account, the radio station, Blonded Los Santos, is inspired by Frank’s former Beats 1 Show, Blonded Radio.
The station’s tracklist features some of the songs Frank premiered on the show, and tracks by artists such as JAY-Z, Aphex Twin, Curtis Mayfield, and Migos, among others.
This isn’t exactly unheard of in GTA Online, as fellow musician Flying Lotus already has his own radio station in game, FlyLo FM.
Frank Ocean’s albums, the free mixtape Nostalgia, ULTRA, his commercial debut channel ORANGE, and last year’s Endless and Blonde, have all received critical acclaim. Since its release in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V has become the third best selling video game of all time.
Blonded Los Santos is available now alongside the new Doomsday Heist in GTA Online, the multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V.
