Publisher Activision and developer Beenox have shared a new trailer for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
Featured above, the new trailer shows off roughly twenty minutes of the game’s Adventure Mode. When comparing this to the original Crash Team Racing, however, it’s worth pointing out the trophy girls have been removed from the game.
In the original game, every character’s victory circle bit (even the female characters and animals) had trophy girls, you can view a YouTube recording of that here.
It’s likely the new game removed the “grid girls” to avoid the same controversy that arose with the Formula One grid girls, real-life trophy awarding women. Various campaigns against the practice came up, and the organization banned the grid girls.
Nitro-Fueled is looking like a fun reimagining of the original game – but sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on digital grid girls being removed from the game!
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is launching across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on June 21st.
