New Game+ Expo Digital Showcase Premieres June 23rd

New Game+ Expo

New Game+ Expo, a new digital video games digital conference, has been announced.

The official website boasts the online showcase “new and upcoming releases from a coalition of developers from around the world.” The participating publishers include Acttil, Playism, Aksys Games, Arc System Works, GungHo America, Idea Factory, Inti Creates, Koei Tecmo, Natsume, NIS America, Sega, Atlus, SNK Corporation, Spike Chunsoft, Grasshopper Manufacture, and WayForward.

The event is most likely to act as a surrogate to the many cancelled trade shows and conferences due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Known as COVID-19 officially (or Chinese Flu to others) it affected many worldwide, from businesses to public gatherings and events.

This includes postponements of GDC, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the physical events for EVO 2020 and Tokyo Game Show 2020, and cancellations E3 2020 (including digital events), the physical event for Gamescom 2020, and Comiket 98.

We also reported Square Enix offering face masks to Square Enix members for select purchases of over $100 on their store, and Guilty Gear: Strive being delayed to 2021.

The Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering are mapping the virus’ spread [12]. As of this time of writing, there have been over 4.931 million total confirmed cases worldwide, and over 2.897 million active cases. There have been over 324,000 deaths, however over 1.710 million people have made a “total recovery.”

New Game+ Expo premieres June 23rd at 8:00 a.m. PDT via Twitch.
