A movie that serves as a sequel to Kamen Rider Double’s Fuuto PI anime that aired in summer 2022, and at the same time a prequel for the live-action series itself, is set to premiere this fall.
The official Fuuto PI social media account announced the FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull movie will premiere on November 8th.
The new anime movie will tell the story of hardboiled detective Sokichi Narumi, his efforts to fight the Dopant monsters sent by the mysterious Museum, and eventually his fate and succession by Shotaro Hidari and Philip as the titular Kamen Riders.
Here’s a newly released trailer:
Kenjiro Tsuda will voice Sokichi Narumi. The cast of Fuuto PI will reprise their roles from the anime, namely: Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shotaro, Kouki Uchiyama as Philip, Mikako Komatsu as Akiko Narumi, Akira Sekine as Tokime, Makoto Furukawa as Ryu Terui, and Daisuke Ono as Yukiji Bandou.
Yousuke Kabashima, who directed Fuuto PI, will return directing the film, as is Ayataka Tanemura. Scriptwriter Tatsuto Higuchi, character designer and chief animation director Hidekazu Ebina, animation director Kiyoshi Komatsubura, and music composers Shuhei Naruse and Kotaro Nakagawa will return, as well as executive producer Hideaki Tsukada and supervisor Akira Onodera.
Fuuto PI is a sequel manga to the live-action Kamen Rider Double that aired in 2009. Called Fuuto Tantei and started in 2011, the manga was penned by Kamen Rider Double’s screenwriter Riku Sanjou and Masaki Satou as artist.
