New English Trailer for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

NIS America has shared a new trailer for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

Featured above, the new “Mysteries of the Isle” trailer was shown off at this year’s Anime Expo.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via NIS America:

Ys returns with a brand new adventure for the first time in 8 years! Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and the other shipwrecked passengers he rescues form a village to challenge fearsome beasts and mysterious ruins on the isolated island. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in a unknown world.

Join Adol as he unravels the riddle of the cursed isle and the bluehaired maiden Dana in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

Key Features

  • An Epic Tale – Follow Adol and his companions on his latest adventure to unlock the mysteries of the cursed island.
  • Another Side – Unravel the mystery of the blue-haired maiden Dana through her own, unique gameplay segments.
  • It Takes a Village – Rescue your fellow shipwrecked passengers and bring them to your village where they will provide valuable services.
  • Party On – Switch characters on the fly as you battle ferocious foes in lightning-fast combat.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is launching across PC, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita on September 12th in North America and September 15th in Europe.

NISA won’t see a cent of my money for this.

Is there an issue with this game I’m not aware of or is this just disdain for NISA in general?

I really want this but damn, its very difficult for me to not think that NISA will fuck it up. Hopefully, they will do things right

Glad to see the Falcom localization + porting process sped up heavily on account of having multiple Western partners now.

I do hope NISA manages to not mess this up, though.

Surely it makes more sense to support a good product and good behavior to encourage the company to improve their practices? If we all just stopped buying from companies even when they correct themselves all we’re doing is reducing the number of people who can localise games like this and in turn lowering the number of those games we get

We had amazing products in the Ys before NISA, thanks to XSEED, and I’m sure this won’t have the same localization quality. I have no intention of rewarding the morality police that is NISA, nor do I want to give Falcon money for spitting on XSEED after a long and succesful partnership, but most of all, I shall never forgive them for making Hatsuu cry.

“If we all just stopped buying from companies even when they correct themselves”

HAH! Fat chance of that ever happening with NISA!

Mmm, it’s sad since Falcom games always have great stories to tell.
I’m reaching the end of Trails in the Sky 3rd now. :D

Did he seriously get on another boat? Very irrisponsible, dooming the other passangers that way.
