August 20, 2016 at 8:55 pmOoph, that narrator sounds way too dramatic. Adding into it all the Engrish, and it just looks too silly to take as seriously as they want you to.

Love the new Zero-esque character with all the dashes, if they put a Z-Saber in that guy’s hand I am sold twice over. This shit is my NepJam.
Edit: Oh wait, they totally did! Sorta. Derp.

August 20, 2016 at 9:50 pmI hope they didn’t remove the intro text every time a special is used, but it looks like it based on the trailer.

August 21, 2016 at 1:15 amI’d rather have an actually good trailer, though.
That Mighty Number 9 trailer was a special kind of awful. Even if this trailer is bad, it’s definitely better than that cringefest.

August 21, 2016 at 3:08 amI really dislike this narrator. His voice sounds too nasally. Also irked that the localization still makes unnecessary name changes for no reason whatsoever. It bothered me in the first game, and it still bothers me here. The game looks fun, I just wish it had a better localization.

August 21, 2016 at 9:45 amIs that what the problem is with this game? I haven’t played an Azure Gunvolt game before. Gameplay reminds me of Rockman Zero and looks fun.

August 21, 2016 at 2:21 pmThe games are pretty fun, but they have shit localization. The first game on the 3DS was censored, and had all the voiced dialogue removed in favor of a completely different script, and most of the characters and attacks were renamed for no reason at all. The PC version was better in the fact that it had a new translation, but unfortunately kept all the character and attack name changes from the shitty 3DS English translation. It was pretty jarring because when special attack titles would pop on the screen, you can clearly tell the characters would be shouting something completely different. Example being: “Sparkcalibur” being changed to “Luxcalibur”. It was really dumb. IIRC, I think 8-4 handled the localization, which would explain why it’s shit.

August 21, 2016 at 3:46 pmI heard that Inti-Creates was working on a Patch for the 3DS version of GV that restored all the content. Was there any further news about that?
TheManWithPants
August 21, 2016 at 3:55 pmNope. They went completely silent on it. Some suspect that the patch might not come out until the Striker Pack gets released.

August 21, 2016 at 4:01 pmShame. From what I understand a lot of the cut content was because of time constraints because GV was Inticreates’s first independently published game. I don’t really want to get the Steam version, because from what I understand it’s just a lazy port of the 3DS version.
TheManWithPants
August 21, 2016 at 4:18 pmIt’s true that the PC version is just a lazy port (still uses 2 screens, low-res spirtes, and is locked to 30fps), and the only reason it’s worth getting honestly is because it has more content than the 3DS version, it’s uncensored, and has a more faithful re-translation that retains the original Japanese audio. It’s basically what the 3DS version should’ve been.

August 21, 2016 at 4:25 pmFor now, I guess I’ll wait and see what the “Striker Pack” is like (I prefer having Physical copies of my games). If that contains the restored version of GV1, then I’m DEFINITELY picking that up. If not, I’ll wait for GV1 to go on sale on Steam.

August 21, 2016 at 11:20 pmIntiCreates said they heard people’s complaints about the localization for the last game and promise to hold 8-4 to a higher standard this time. I wonder if they’ll keep their word.
