Aniplex US have released a new trailer for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie, along with the premiere date in Japan and the west.

As previously reported, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was intended to release later this year in Japan, and until recently the details of the movie’s western release have been scarce. Both cases likely due to disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The film adapts the Mugen Train arc that ran from chapters 54 through 69 of the manga. Tanjiro and friends board the Mugen Train to find demon slayer Kyojuro Rengoku, hoping to learn the Hinokami Kagura breath style.

However, Kyojuro has been sent to investigate strange disappearances on the train, and kill the demon assumed to be behind it. As people begin to fall asleep, no one can be sure who will be left alive when the train reaches its final stop.

According to the official English site, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will be directed by Haruo Sotozaki; he is also the director of the main anime series. Similarly Ufotable will be the animation studio producing the film, continuing their work from the anime. The popularity of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has seemingly persisted despite its end earlier this year.

Now, a fixed premiere date has been announced for Japan, along with the western premiere date. You can find the new trailer below, and in Japanese here.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will premiere October 16th in Japan, and 2021 in the US.
