Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide Studio have shared a new trailer for Call of Cthulhu.
Featured above, the new trailer introduces the “depths of madness,” in which you get to see protagonist Edward Pierce’s “submersion into the depths of madness” while investigating a death shrouded in mystery, on Darkwater Island in Boston.
If you’re a Lovecraft fan, you'[ll be right at home with this video. “The idea that you’re never quite sure if what you’re seeing is real, or a symptom of madness – or both” Cyanide tease in the trailer.
Call of Cthulhu is launching across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year.

January 19, 2017 at 5:05 pmI’m usually not a big fan of adventure games, but the Cthulhu mythos is good enough to sell me this.

January 19, 2017 at 6:03 pm“Have you ever questioned your own sanity?”
There really would be no point to it. If I am insane I have no way of proving it and if I return to sanity then I would have no way of knowing I wasn’t still insane.

January 20, 2017 at 6:43 amInteresting, though it remains to be seen if they can actually pull off the feeling of a Lovecraft story. That slowly building feeling of dread that creeps up as you read the novel, much like a Hitchcock film.
If they go too actiony or for jump scares it might ruin the vibe.

January 20, 2017 at 4:24 pmIt looks to me that they are taking the same direction as “Dark Corners of the Earth” and who can blame them, that game set the standard for a Lovecraft video game. It’s a shame that it’s notoriously known for being unplayable.

January 20, 2017 at 8:59 pmOwe, but it is. Because the only thing you can prove for certain is that you exist and are experiencing what you believe you are experiencing. Everything else can be doubted to one degree or another.
If I am insane I would never know it, if I were sane I could never prove it.
