New Behind-the-Scenes Mad Max Trailer Shows Off Vehicle Combat and the Open World

Game Informer have exclusive footage for the Mad Max action-adventure, which you can watch above. It has folks from the development studio discussing the game, and—more importantly—showcases more of the open world and vehicular combat that will be a part of the game.

Warner Bros. Interactive have also finally announced the release date for the Mad Max video game: it’s coming to PCs, the Xbox One, and the Playstation 4 on September 1 in North America and September 4 in Europe. It had previously been intended for both current-gen consoles and the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, but the latter have since been nixed.

You can also see the previous gameplay trailer for the title here.

The last time Mad Max was in a video game was 25 years ago, on the NES. Both this new game, and the movie, Mad Max: Fury Road, have a lot of people’s hopes in their palms—after all, a whole genre of games, including the likes of Wasteland and Fallout, pretty much owe their existence to Mad Max (let alone the countless other games that are less directly inspired by the action and spirit of the franchise).
