Mevius Final Fantasy is the mobile Final Fantasy game that’s supposed to be a “full-scale, high-quality RPG”. It will have all the all the traditional trappings of an FF game, apart from its map movement being automated.
The game takes place in the bleak land of Paramatia. The player’s protagonist wakes here without a memory, and a mysterious voice begins to guide him through his journey. The title is meant to hearken back to the original Final Fantasy, with its theme of “Warriors of Light”.
The game is staffed by employees from the main Final Fantasies, including Yoshinori Kitase as Producer, Kazushige Nojima as Scenario Lead, and Toshiyuki Itahana as Character Designer.
These recently released images apparently contain some screenshots that are supposed to be indicative of what the game will look like on Android and iOS mobile devices.
Mevius Final Fantasy should release some time this Spring in Japan. A Western release is yet to be announced.
