The Sega Game Gear has a special place in my heart – it was the ridiculously power hungry competitor of Nintendo’s Game Boy, and it let me play a version of Sonic the Hedgehog on the go.
October 6th marked the 25th anniversary of the handheld launching back in 1990 in Japan, while it didn’t see a launch in the west until April of the following year. Now, Sega has announced they’re releasing a new theme for the Nintendo 3DS in honor of the handheld.
