With Perfect World’s Neverwinter making the jump to the Xbox One and a PS4 version in the works, it would seem that the free-to-play MMO has transitioned well to the consoles. So well, that the game is set to grow yet again, with a new expansion, called Strongholds, due out this August.
Focusing on player-vs-player combat and giving players the opportunity to fight for their own piece of prime fantasy real estate, this next expansion will, according to the developers, contain the largest maps in the game to date. With guilds now able to fight for and maintain their own land, large scale PvP will eventually become a big part of the game when the mechanic is fully integrated this upcoming September.
The bad news? This expansion is, for now anyway, only available for the PC. Console owners will no doubt receive it at some point, but no date has been announced.
