Netflix has released their first poster for the upcoming live action adaptation of One Piece.
Originally announced back in 2020, the new live action series will star:
- Inaki Godoy as Luffy
- Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
- Emily Rudd as Nami
- Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
- Taz Skylar as Sanji
The new poster shows Godoy from behind wearing Luffy’s iconic straw hat and red top.
Fans were quick to find that Netflix has already added a site and preview image for the upcoming One Piece series.
Netflix has had a spotty track record with anime. Their actual anime releases like Record of Ragnarok seem to do well; in contrast to the live action Cowboy Bebop which was cancelled after one season.
One Piece might not share the same fate however; Eiichiro Oda the creator of the series is Executive Producer. Meanwhile Shinichiro Watanabe had next to no input on Cowboy Bebop.
The One Piece live action series is set to premiere sometime this year on Netflix.
